André Cury is a lifelong Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu practitioner, instructor, and academy leader with more than 30 years of experience training, teaching, and competing around the world. Born from the roots of Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu culture, André’s journey began in Brazil and has grown through decades of dedication to the art, its values, and its ability to transform people both on and off the mats.
As the leader of Upper Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu Academy, André is committed to sharing authentic Jiu-Jitsu with students of all ages and experience levels. His teaching focuses on strong fundamentals, practical self-defense, technical development, discipline, respect, and personal growth. Whether working with beginners, kids, competitors, or advanced students, André brings patience, experience, and a deep passion for helping each student reach their potential.
Through his years of training, competing, coaching, and learning internationally, André has built a reputation as a knowledgeable and dedicated professor who teaches Jiu-Jitsu as more than a sport.
